Integrative medicine is an approach to healing and healthcare that encompasses different schools of thought for physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual healing. It is particularly focused on using cutting edge and evidence from research and literature to empower clients to health renewal. Much of the best wisdom relates to lifestyle, the cornerstone of lasting change in the integrative model.

Skylight Wellness focuses on finding the underlying causes of your symptoms, such as inflammation or gut dysbiosis, that can cause problems all over the body. When these things are corrected, many problems resolve downstream. Encompassing alternative medicine's cutting edge wisdom, such as paying attention to our body's circadian rhythm and understanding the biophysics of sunlight exposure and grounding are also important elements in our quest to help you navigate the problems of modern chronic illness and chronic symptoms.

Julia Brown Morris, RN, MSN, FNP-BC, is a family nurse practitioner, and is listed with the Institute of Functional Medicine.

Janie Garber, CFNC, INHC, LC, CDSS, is a certified functional nutrition coach and integrative nutrition coach, as well as a life coach and dietary supplement specialist.

Both Julia and Janie draw upon extensive functional medicine training and wisdom in their practice, but they also make appropriate use of conventional, alternative, circadian, and other healthcare approaches. This is known as integrative medicine or integrative clinical care, and is the keystone of our wellness philosophy.

We offer comprehensive integrative clinical care and functional health coaching through our premiere monthly subscription, offered in two tracks, one for chronic physical and/or mood symptoms, and another for addiction recovery. We also offer à la carte care for those who prefer not to subscribe. Unlike subscription programs at many functional or integrative care ervices, our subscriptions do not have time limits and may be canceled at any time.

No, we are not primary care providers. We are part of care team and encourage our patients to have a primary care provider in place.

We do not accept insurance. Most insurance companies have gatekeeper models, which work poorly at best with integrative medicine testing and protocols for getting to the causes and solutions to many modern, chronic symptoms.

To help our clients, we are adding preferred third-party vendors like PayPal Credit and Care Credit, which will allow you to make payments directly with them. Please let us know if you would like to use one of these options for payment plans.

You may also be able to pay for our services with your HSA or FSA account. Please check with your insurance provider for more information on what are eligible covered medical expenses.

For lab work, check with your insurance company to see if the tests Skylight Wellness South orders for you are covered under your health insurance policy. If they are a covered expense, let us know what type of documentation your insurance company requires for you to submit to them.

At this time, appointments with our team are via telehealth on our confidential HIPAA-compliant platform, which can be found in the client portal.

That said, if you are local to the Nashville area, meeting in person may be an option with our health coach and addiction counselor.

Since everyone's needs are different and labs have so many different prices, we price lab work separately from our core services. Trust that we always carefully consider what types of lab work are best for you, and we do not mark up the price of any labs we order.

We typically order labs from the following labwork providers:

• Labcorp and Quest:

We order the labs for you online, and you make an appointment or walk in to their local lab location to have your labs drawn. We use Labcorp and Quest for standard lab testing.

• Rupa Health, Designs for Health, Evexia, Fullscript, and others

For specialized lab work not commonly offered by Labcorp or Quest, we order the labs for you online from Rupa Health, Designs for Heath, Evexia, FullScript or possibly other labwork providers. These providers then contact you directly, request payment from you up front, and send everything to you that you need to know to obtain your lab work, including any detailed instructions.

We are always looking for the best way to get your lab work done, at the lowest cost with the best convenience. Results in all cases will be sent back to us, and we will discuss your results with you at your next appointment.

During our initial discovery call or initial consultation as a part of your groundwork, we will let you know which records would be helpful for us to review. At that time, if you do not have access to your medical records to upload to our portal, you can release your medical records from other medical providers to us for review. We are happy to help you with this process if needed.

3. You can email us at juliabrown@skylightwell.com, but please be aware this method does not utilize HIPAA-compliant security features. Generally, we recommend using email only to set up a plan to talk with us. You should avoid including personal health information in any email messages.

Yes! You will need to sign a release of information, which allows us to communicate ongoingly with your mental health provider(s). We will coordinate this on an individual basis during your discovery call or during your initial groundwork visit.
